Young at Heart: Learning, Laughing, and Living in Dublin This Summer

The Young at Heart group—Christian, Jakub, Arek, and Martin—has truly made the most of their time at IH Dublin this summer. Guided by Paul and Julia, this group brought curiosity, humour, and energy to every corner of the school.

Young at Heart: Learning, Laughing, and Living in Dublin This Summer

At IH Dublin, learning English isn’t just about grammar and vocabulary—it’s about connection, discovery, and shared experiences. Our Young at Heart group this summer—Christian, Jakub, Arek, and Martin—embraced every opportunity to make their time in Dublin truly unforgettable.

A Warm Welcome and a Memorable Experience

Guided by our dedicated team, Paul and Julia, this lively group brought curiosity, humour, and energy to the school from day one. Their positive spirit quickly spread through classrooms and common areas, reminding everyone that learning has no age limit—and that laughter is one of the best tools for language practice.

Host Families and Real-Life English

For many in the group, the decision to stay with host families was key to making fast progress in English. Jakub and Arek agreed that living with locals offered the best chance to practise outside of class.

“Otherwise, you can’t practice much,” Christian added, noting how much of a difference a chatty host family can make.

Beyond the linguistic benefits, homestay experiences gave these students a richer view of Irish daily life, culture, and hospitality.

Returning Student, Returning Inspiration

Martin, a returning student and English teacher himself, shared how the IH Dublin experience has influenced his own teaching style:

“Teaching English is much more communicative here. I really like the group activities, for example—I use them in my own classes now.”

For Martin, IH Dublin offers not only language development, but professional insight and renewed motivation.

More Than a Language Course

This summer’s Young at Heart experience captures the heart of what we aim to offer at IH Dublin: a place where people from around the world come together to learn, share, and grow. Whether it’s group work in class, storytelling over coffee, or exploring Dublin’s streets under a rare stretch of sunny skies, the moments shared here become memories that last well beyond the course.

“It’s a school, but it feels like a community,” one participant shared.
