At IH Dublin, we’re proud to welcome young adults (aged 16–19) from around the world each year—especially during the summer months. For many, it’s their first time living abroad, and we understand how important it is to combine high-quality language education with a safe, social, and supportive environment.
Our Young Adult Programme is designed specifically for students who are no longer children, but not yet fully independent adults. It offers a unique mix of structure and freedom—perfect for this stage in life.
Recently, a few of our students shared their experience with us on video. In their own words, they described what life at IH Dublin has meant to them—and what stood out most during their stay.

A Programme Designed for Young Adults
At IH Dublin, our Young Adult students benefit from a carefully crafted weekly schedule that supports both academic progress and personal growth. Each week includes:
-
-
Morning English classes with qualified and experienced teachers
-
Interactive lessons focused on communication, critical thinking, and real-world language use
-
Full-board accommodation in a carefully vetted Irish host family or student residence (18+)
-
A Leap Card for unlimited local travel throughout the stay
-
Supervised afternoon and evening activities, including company visits, workshops, cultural excursions, social events, and light sports
-
Full-day weekend excursions to some of Ireland’s most iconic landmarks
This structure allows students to feel secure and supported while still enjoying the freedom to explore Dublin and practice their English in authentic settings.
-
Independence, Connection, and Cultural Discovery
One of the most valuable aspects of the Young Adult Programme is the opportunity to make friends from around the world. For many students, this international experience is life-changing.
They leave IH Dublin with:
-
Greater independence
-
Lifelong friendships
-
A broader world view
-
A stronger command of English
Social connection is at the heart of what we do, and it plays a vital role in language development and personal confidence.
Friendship, Fun, and Personal Growth
Many students mentioned the friendships they formed as a highlight of their experience—and we couldn’t agree more. Making friends across cultures motivates students to practice English more often, while also:
-
Building independence
-
Boosting confidence
-
Creating unforgettable memories
For young adults, feeling connected to others is just as important as improving their language skills—and it’s something we prioritise in every aspect of our programme.
