A Summer of Learning, Friendship, and Discovery
This summer’s Young Adults Programme at IH Dublin has been nothing short of inspiring. Over the past weeks, students from around the globe have come together to learn, explore, and create lasting memories in the heart of Dublin.
From engaging English lessons that boosted confidence to cultural activities that brought Ireland’s history and traditions to life, every moment was filled with discovery, growth, and laughter.
Learning with Confidence
In the classroom, students took part in dynamic English lessons designed to build not only language skills but also confidence. Interactive activities, debates, and collaborative projects encouraged everyone to practise English in a natural and engaging way.
By the end of the programme, many students felt more independent in expressing their ideas, showing just how much can be achieved in just a few weeks of focused learning.
Exploring Dublin and Beyond
The programme went far beyond the classroom. Students experienced the charm of Dublin’s streets, the beauty of Ireland’s landscapes, and the warmth of its people. Each excursion, cultural activity, and social event offered an opportunity to practise English in real-life settings and connect with Irish culture in a meaningful way.
Highlight of the summer:
- Exploring the coastal beauty of Malahide and the historic charm of Kilkenny
From the seaside town of Malahide, with its stunning castle and picturesque harbour, to the medieval streets of Kilkenny filled with history and culture, students experienced the unique blend of Ireland’s past and present. Both destinations offered the perfect backdrop for practising English in a relaxed, social setting. - Experiencing the magic of Irish dance
No trip to Ireland is complete without music and dance. Students were introduced to the lively world of Irish dance, learning the steps, rhythm, and tradition behind this famous art form. It was a chance not just to watch, but to join in and connect with Irish culture in a fun, memorable way. - Relaxing in the wide open spaces of Phoenix Park
As one of the largest city parks in Europe, Phoenix Park gave students the chance to enjoy nature right in Dublin’s heart. From cycling to spotting the famous wild deer, the park provided an escape from the busy city streets and a chance to bond with classmates in a beautiful green space. - Taking seaside walks in Sandymount and enjoying the atmosphere of Dún Laoghaire
Ireland’s coastline is full of charm, and students got to experience it first-hand with peaceful walks along Sandymount Strand and visits to the lively seaside town of Dún Laoghaire. These trips blended relaxation with exploration, all while giving students new opportunities to practise their English in real-life situations. - Discovering the peace and beauty of Glendalough, nestled in the Wicklow Mountains
Glendalough was a highlight for many students, offering breathtaking scenery and a glimpse into Ireland’s early monastic history. Surrounded by lakes and mountains, students enjoyed both the natural beauty and the cultural richness of this special place.

Friendships Without Borders
One of the most rewarding outcomes of the programme was the friendships built along the way. Students came from different countries and cultures, yet quickly found common ground through shared experiences.
From group activities to evening socials, these moments created bonds that will last far beyond the summer. Many students leave not only with stronger English skills, but also with lifelong friends from all around the world.
A Community Effort
The success of the programme would not have been possible without the dedication of our teachers, activity leaders, and support staff. Their passion and care ensured that every student felt welcomed, supported, and inspired throughout their stay.
