Terms & Conditions

In cases where the booking is facilitated by an ETO, the ETO assumes the responsibility of ensuring that the student is fully informed about IH Dublin’s terms and conditions.
Booking a Course
Bookings are not confirmed until official enrolment confirmation is provided by International House Dublin. Final registration is only confirmed upon receipt of deposit.
Individuals
To book a course, students must complete an application form and send it to us by email. Students can also book online via our website: www.ihdublin.com.
Groups
For group bookings, we must receive a completed International House Dublin group booking form at least 8 weeks before the arrival date.
Fees
All of our prices include lessons, Wi-Fi, a placement test, and an end-of-course certificate. There is a registration fee of €100, a course materials fee of €50, and an accommodation placement fee of €80 (if applicable) for all adult course bookings. These fees are already included in the Teacher training programmes, Junior, and High School package prices.
Tuition
Each lesson is 60 minutes. In the case of public holidays occurring on a Monday, new students will begin their course with us on the Tuesday of that week. Public holidays are non-refundable.
Level Test
To help us place you in the class that best matches your level, we kindly ask all students to complete the entrance test at least two weeks before their arrival. Completing the test in advance allows us to ensure a smooth start to your course and offer the widest range of class options.
If the test is not completed within this timeframe, class availability and flexibility may be more limited. While we will always do our best to place you at the most suitable level, late test completion may mean being placed in the closest available class to your level, rather than an exact level match.
Failing to complete the level test within the requested deadline may result in the postponement of the starting date. Any changes to the timetable can only be requested prior to the start date.
Beginner Level
Beginner-level courses are subject to availability, and while we do our best to accommodate all students, we cannot guarantee a beginner class on your preferred start date or schedule.
If a suitable beginner class is not available, you may have the option to adjust your timetable to match an available class (please note that additional fees may apply). If rescheduling is not possible, we will place you in the closest available level based on your assessment results to ensure you can still begin your learning journey.
Nationality Mix in Afternoon & Lower-Level Classes
We strive to create a diverse and international learning environment in all our classes. While we make every effort to ensure a mix of nationalities, there may be variations depending on class levels and timetables.
Course Books & Materials
All students are required to have the coursebook materials for their classes. It is a condition of enrolment. The €50 Materials Fee that all students pay at the point of registration includes payment for the student’s initial coursebook. If a student changes level in the first week of their course and has maintained the coursebook in good condition, they can exchange. In order to receive a new book for a different level, during the first week of the course, there should be no writing inside the book, and no text or answers should be underlined or highlighted in any way. The spine and/or cover can show a little sign of wear but should not be torn or folded. Some coursebooks also come with a CD or DVD. These should also still be inside the cover of the book. Students starting a course at International House Dublin are advised not to write in the coursebook until they are satisfied with the level that they have been assigned to. When a student changes level part-way through the General English course period, it is the student’s responsibility to purchase a copy of the coursebook used at the level they are moving to. This can be purchased new for a fee of €50 or second hand for a fee of €20, if available. When a student changes from a General English course to an Exam preparation or Business English course, the student must buy a new book in their first week of the course. This can be purchased new in Reception for a fee of €50.
