IH Dublin Welcomes Soul Bilíngue Scholars: A Partnership That Transforms Lives
IH Dublin is proud to announce our new partnership with the Brazilian NGO Soul Bilíngue as part of our Social Responsibility initiative. Soul Bilíngue is an organisation dedicated to creating opportunities for young people from underprivileged backgrounds in Brazil by offering life-changing international experiences through English education. Through this collaboration, IH Dublin has committed to providing four scholarships each year to deserving students selected by the programme.
This year, we are delighted to welcome our first two Soul Bilíngue scholars, Ana and Grace, who have joined us here in Dublin to begin their study-abroad journey. Their stories reflect resilience, cultural pride, and the transformative power of education.
Ana: Fulfilling a Dream Passed Down Through Generations
Ana (@anassisx) shared how studying in Ireland represents much more than a personal achievement. It is a dream that belongs to her family as well.
“A dream that has been passed down through generations, and I am now the one who gets to live it,” Ana shared. “One thing my older brother told me, which really moved me, was that this represents a dream of generations. My parents gave up many of their own dreams to raise us the best way they could, working hard. Today, if I have the chance to fulfill my dream, it’s because they often gave up theirs.”
For Ana, travelling abroad was something her family never had the chance to experience. Now, by studying at IH Dublin, she is opening doors not only for herself but also for the hopes and legacy of those who came before her. With over 25 years of experience in student success, IH Dublin is proud to be the place where she will learn, grow, and collect memories that will last a lifetime.
Grace: Carrying Culture, Territory, and Ancestral Strength
Grace (@gracecorteez), an Indigenous young woman from Roraima in northern Brazil, is another remarkable Soul Bilíngue ambassador. She is the first participant from Brazil’s North region and the first Soul Bilíngue scholar to attend IH Dublin.
Her journey goes beyond studying English. It is a symbolic passage between worlds.
When Grace travels, she brings with her the history, knowledge, and traditions of her people. Each step she takes in Ireland represents a connection between her Indigenous territory and the global opportunities that English can offer.
“More than fulfilling a dream, Grace is carrying with her the knowledge, traditions, and strength of her territory,” Soul Bilíngue wrote. “When an Indigenous young woman crosses borders, it’s not only her who travels. Her whole community walks with her, and the entire world is enriched by this exchange.”
A Community Built on Opportunity and Cultural Exchange
Having Ana and Grace with us is an honour. Their presence enriches our community, offering our students and staff a chance to learn from their experiences, cultures, and perspectives. This partnership reflects our belief that education is a powerful tool for social change and personal transformation.
