Pathways to the Workplace (Work Experience Programme)

Pathways to the Workplace is designed for students aged 16 and over who want to combine English learning with practical, real-world experience in Dublin. Through work placements or simulated professional environments, students apply their English in authentic settings while developing key employability skills.

Work placements are available in the following areas: retail, hospitality, marketing, administration, and customer service—typically in cafés, shops, restaurants, or office settings. Students can choose between a full-time work placement or a blended format, combining one week of English lessons with one week of placement. The programme is best suited for motivated students at B1 level or above who are keen to grow their confidence, build their CV, and experience Irish workplace culture first-hand.

The experience can be enriched through project work, job shadowing, workplace-focused tasks, and industry visits—providing a meaningful bridge between academic learning and future career aspirations.
